Lenim ‘LJ’ Henriquez is a proud member of the 2022-2023 NBS Pro Team. LJ is one of only two athletes that make up the 2022-2023 Pro Team. LJ is a member of NBS Eastern Region and the Thrillseekers Ski Club.  At the age of 14, LJ trains year-round and competes at some of the highest levels of competition. LJ is a Snowboarder – he does Slopestyle and enjoys riding the Park.

LJ has been snowboarding for 10 years and competing about 7 years. For the 2021-2022 season at 13 years old LJ started his Futures Tour journey competing in Slopestyle discipline.  He placed

  • 2nd in Slopestyle at Park City, Utah and
  • 1st at Gore Mountain, New York

The Futures Tour is an event hosted in collaboration between the United States of America Snowboard and Freeski Association (USASA) and the US Ski and Snowboard Association (USSSA). It is designed to be the entry level into FIS competition for Freeski and Snowboard and serves as the stepping stone to Nor-am, World Cup, X games and Olympic Competition.

Recently LJ attended the Gold Camp in Mammoth for 5 days. He was invited to attend the Red Bull Camp in Mt Hood for 10 days.  LJ was invited to compete in the Game of Snow, a rail jam that was held at Big Snow summer 2022 with the Pros.  LJ was invited last season to participate in the Red Bull Slide in Tour where he traveled to 7 mountains on the east coast in 10 days.

LJ is featured in a video with Russell Winfield for Ikon, MY Ikon: My Ride; A STORY ABOUT LOVE FOR COMMUNITY AND THE RIDE IT TAKES YOU ON

For the 2022-2023 season LJ is very excited about attending the Okemo Mountain School in Ludlow, Vermont. This will be his first-time training at a Mountain School and being away from home for an extended period.

Read the words of LJ, “With the support of NBS I am able for the first time to go away for the winter and train with Okemo Mountain School. I am so excited that I will be able to train daily with coaches and travel places to compete. Going to Okemo Mountain School and getting training there will help me get closer to my goals of Dew Tour, Grand Prix, X-games and Olympics.”
