Aaron Gregory Gilkes – Going for the Podium

Aaron is a member of the 2022-2023 NBS B Team. NBS B Team athletes train several days a week and compete in at least 4 competitions throughout the year. In the off seasons, Aaron runs Cross Country and Track and Field on his High School Varsity Team.

Aaron is a member of the NBS Eastern Region –Thrillseekers Ski Club. He has been skiing for 12 years and competing for 8 years. He has been involved with skiing as long as he could walk. His parents introduced him to the sport when he was three years old.

Aaron is part of the Mountain Creek Race Team in Vernon, New Jersey. The mission of Mountain Creek Ski Racing Club (MCSRC) is to provide alpine athletes the opportunity to reach their full athlete and competitive potential in a fun and supportive environment, achieved through and enhanced by a sharing passion for the lifelong sport of skiing while promoting sportsmanship, team spring and comrade.

Being an NBS-OSF recipient is a honor and privilege I take very seriously. Having your support is golden, and it has made me into a better person and athlete. My attitude has improved, I understand how lucky I am, and I am so proud to wear my NBS merchandise representing this awesome organization. It keeps me grounded to know how many people care about my successes. Each day I value the lessons taught to me because I know I have to hold myself accountable, and I have to answer to you. This continues to help me mature and give back to others. Thank you for everything!

For the 2022 – 2023 season Aaron would like to:

• achieve his personal best each time he hits the race course
• attend the Championships at Burke in 2023
• qualify for regionals, then state, and possibly Nationals!
• have a podium finish during our regular race season
• improve on his personal best
